Pronounce with a resonant bouncing sound when the letter carries a sukoon or when stopping.
Letters: ูู ุ ู ู (Mushaddadah)
Hold a smooth nasal resonance from the nasal cavity for a count of 2 harakat.
Letters: ุชุ ุซุ ุฌุ ุฏุ ุฐุ ุฒุ ุณุ ุดุ ุตุ ุถุ ุทุ ุธุ ูุ ูุ ู
Conceal the Noon Sakinah or Tanween with light nasal Ghunnah (2 counts).
Letters: ู ุ ุฑ ุ ู ุ ู ุ ู ุ ู (ููุฑูู ููููู)
Merge Noon Sakinah or Tanween into the next letter (with or without Ghunnah).
Duration: 6 Harakat (Counts)
Mandatory prolongation when a Madd letter is followed by an original sukoon or shaddah.
Duration: 4 to 5 Harakat (Counts)
Prolongation when a Madd letter is followed by a Hamzah in the same or adjacent word.
Duration: 2, 4, or 6 Harakat (Counts)
Permissible prolongation at verse endings or when stopping recitation.
